Country Girl or City Girl
Yesterday I drove into Washington DC with my girls and my mom to see a performance of Wicked at the Kennedy Center. I grew up in the country, I love the country. I live in the country now and prefer it to the suburbs of Northern Virginia, but I do find the Georgetown area charming. I thought to myself as we walked from our hotel down to the Kennedy Center and past George Washington University that if I had to live in the city I would much prefer DC to New York. I even picked out a darling little yellow house to take up residence in.
It was like a mini history lesson on our walk as we passed the Watergate and I explained to my girls why that location was of historical importance.
Of course the Kennedy Center was our destination. The show was fantastic. While I much prefer the country I am grateful to live close enough to give my girls a bit of culture.
